Hi Jasmine,
Before I start the entry for today, I just wanna say that I'm surprised on how far the story had develop since the 1st episode. At first, I had a thought that this drama would just be a single-person story and it might end in a dramatic way. But, I was totally wrong about it and it is proved in this episode. So, let's dive into today's episode.
Continuing from the previous episode where Oyassan suddenly collapsed while playing catch-ball with Dai-chan, we were shown on how fragile, scared, and speechless Dai-chan was when it happen. He immediately tried to reach Meiko mama but she did answered it.
Anxious on who to call and get help from, he look around and saw the Triple 5 members on the board and immediately decided to call Triple Red, Shunpei Papa.
Shunpei, Rei, Haru, and Shizuku is still at their summer vacation place when Shunpei gets the call from Dai-chan. Without thinking twice, they rush back to Tokyo. Even Mr. Kurosaki & Itsuki-chan head back to Tokyo after getting the news. Why? Because they are family too (Shunpei Papa, my heart...)
"We should tell Mr.Kurosaki about this"
"But it's already this late, we can just tell them later about it."
"They need to know now, because they are family."
Arriving at the hospital, Shou-chan told everyone that Oyassan is stable and currently in ICU (Thank you writer-san! For not killing Oyassan)
Fast forward, Oyassan is finally stable and he is being put in the normal ward. Everyone come to visit him and Sou-chan asked if they should get in contact and inform Oyassan family about this. Upon hearing it, Oyassan was against it and he said that the people who are here with him is already enough. He doesn't want his family to know about it.
At home, the gang decides that they need to inform Oyassan family about this no matter what Oyassan gonna say about it. But, they don't know anything about Oyassan family contact or story since he never talk about it. Eventually, they decides to go into Oyassan's room and try to find anything that could about Oyassan's family.
Instead, they find an envelope that contains pictures taken by Sou-chan before. Going through it, Sou-chan are suddenly reminded about the past. Shunpei papa then urges Sou-chan to share with him on how he end-up at Nijiya. Sou-chan was a bit reluctant about telling Shunpei papa but he tell him anyway.
It was reveal that Sou-chan used to work as a freelance photographer and 8 years ago, he came to Nijiya for the first time to take pictures of the place for a magazine.
Unknowing to him, while clicking the camera button, he manage capture his best picture ever. A picture of Nijiya that contains undescribed warm, love, happiness, and most importantly, family.
Right after the photo was published in the magazine, a lot people had come to request for Sou-chan to capture such pictures again for their magazine. But, after Nijiya, he can't capture a picture with the same emotions again. Eventually, his work request decrease and he finally decides to stop working as a photographer.
He came to Nijiya in hopes to get the same scenery that he once saw before but it never happen until the recent Niji fest.
Story-telling ended and they still could not get anything related to Oyassan family. Everyone is cornered on what to do and then Shunpei papa suggest of asking help from the public through Nijiya instagram. (Definitely a genius idea in this technology-driven generation 🤩)
While waiting for someone to reach out to them, Nijiya was overflowing with customers during the summer vacation and everyone came down to help out with the store. (It was such a beautiful moments 🥰)
Then, the person that everyone is waiting for finally came to the store. It was Oyassan family. Oyassan daughter-in-law.
She start asking about Oyasaan health and Sou-chan said that he is doing well and will be able to come back to the store soon. Sou-chan was curious as to why she leave the store for so long, 6 years to be exact.
Turns out, Oyassan had a heated argument with his own son when he suggested that he wants to open his own store in Osaka. Oyassan insult him and told him to get out and ask him not to mind if the shop shall died together with Oyassan.
His son was clearly hurt by it and eventually leaves the place and open a shop in Osaka but had to closed the store as of last year. Now, both had to work from 9-5pm job.
Sou-chan was baffled when he heard the story but he immediately understand that that is Oyassan (Can you see how close Sou-chan is to Oyassan that he can know that Oyassan is such a person!?)
As they continue to talk, Sou-chan told her that he once came to the shop before, 8 years ago and he went on to show the picture that he's taken.
She commented that it's been a long time since she last saw the picture, her mother-in-law is still alive at that time, and everyone is smiling. A genuine smile. She wonder if she can return back to those time again...
Ok, at this point I can see how Sho-chan is feeling a bit guilty towards her. I don't know if I can say its guilt or not but I can see how Sou-chan face turns scared and confused when she asked who is staying at the second floor.
It is as if he doesn't want the happiness that he had right now being robbed away by the person that use to be part of this place before, he couldn't help but answered, "My....my family."
"Who is staying at the second floor now?"
"That..."
"My..."
"I'm living together with my family..."
"Then I guess it's impossible now..."
After the meeting, Sou-chan is shocked and still dumbstruck with her comment. The words keep on playing on his mind that when Shunpei and Rei asked if anyone came, he lie to them and saying no one came or reply to it yet.
After that, their days went on with the whole gang going back and forth to the hospital to take care of Oyassan and the store at the same time.
And finally, this is where the tears begin to take place 😥...
It was during dinner time and the store is full with customers. Shunpei and Rei are helping out in attending the customer, taking order, Mr. Kurosaki helping out Sou-chan in preparing the food, and everyone is just happily helping out at the store because they are family.
But then, there was Sou-chan who is still feeling sad and disturb about the conversation he had with Oyassan's daughter-in-law
He looks around and remember all the moments that each of them had went through for the past months together as family. Growing up without a mother, he was the most happiest when he was able to create such memories with peoples who once he called strangers...
But, Oyassan daughters words keep on playing on his mind and he can't help but worried about the possibilities of them will once again .....
I wasn't expecting it to turns out like this because the relationship between everyone is so strong right now and to know that separations might possiblity awaits them is just 😭....
To make me cry more after Sou-chan tears is that, next week will be final episode of ＃家族募集します😭！！何で！！
I'm not ready to let everyone go yet but as the saying goes, "Whenever there is a beginning there is and end 🥺.."
