It's the day of the week where we meet Daimon! Let's jump into it!
EPISODE 3
The story opens with New Year has greeted Mon and everyone is working hard as always to prepare cakes and other Mon's pastry before the shop open. We also get some flirting scene between Tsucchi and Otome and him looking at her with eyes full of love and hope of making her his.
Then, we got cut back to the scene where Tsucchi met his ex-girlfriend, Yuki. Apparently, Yuki was not ready to let go of Tsucchi and she felt like Otome-chan is the reason for their break-up because he was soo happy when he found Otome-chan's Instagram and and was eager to met with her again.
From that scene alone, I kinda conclude that Tsucchi actually had feeling to Otome-chan when he was still her sensei. But, he decided not to pursue her and he regret it. Then, he got himself a girlfriend and when he was able to track down Otome-chan, he felt like a second chance was given to him and so he was eager to grab it. Hurm, Tsucchi, why are you being like this?
Anyway, coming back to our drama, Daimon has been coming late to Mon since New Year started and everyone is curious as to why he keeps coming late.
And, Daimon look trouble also here!
Gosh, I wonder what is its...
The day went as normal at Mon and after the day ended, all of them went to a restaurant to finally celebrate a welcome party for Otome-chan! Daimon was supposed to give a speech to Otome-chan since he is Mon's leader but he instantly went into panic mode!
Daimon looking so panic and puzzled here is too funny for me 😂!
Eventually, he gave a short one-minute speech and then start eating, ignoring everyone. The rest of the tons just laugh it off and it becomes a warm environment for everyone. Each of them also started to talk about their experience being a pastry chef (言いなかま!)
During the welcome party, Daimon went a way and Otome-chan happen to caught him near the restaurant's backdoor, on the phone talking to someone with a sad and serious face. I wonder what it is....
Next day, everyone started their shift as usual and Otome-chan was praised for her custard! Before the shift end, Daimon finally reveal to everyone that actually, he is facing a slump.
If you watch the drama, Daimon's slump reveal was done in such a funny way because he was soo confident in saying that he is a slump! (it's more like he is not actually in slump but there is an important matter now rather than creating a new recipe. Hurm, I wonder what's bothering him actually?)
The next morning, Otome-chan did some thinking about what recipe they can create for Mon and she figured out that maybe they could try making a roll cake! So, she went on to the staff room to tell Daimon about it, only to found out that he is changing 🫣.
I mean, we need to put these picture somewhere right 🫣
Anyway, Otome told him about her idea but he against it and not telling her why. Otome-chan was sad about the outcome and come to complain to her friend about it. Instead of agreeing with her, her friend actually thinks that Daimon is kinda cute! (same sister, same).
Then, during her massage session, she received a text message from Yuki - Ohh! She even wrote that she is Tsucchi's girlfriend not her ex. Hohoh, how cunning and sly of her. Due to this, Otome-chan is thrown into a romance chaos all of sudden. She can't think straight and can't even greet Tsucchi properly in the morning!
Daimon eventually reveal to Tsucchi the reason he is being distracted these day and it's actually because he need to leave Mon for a while to attend a friend wedding which is not in Tokyo, but in his hometown. Hearing this, Tsucchi encourage him to go as he haven't visited his hometown for a very long time and reassures Daimon that everything would be alright even if he is not here at Mon for a while.
Daimon was about to agree on Tsucchi's opinion but eventually decided not to go since an order for a big wedding cake just came in!
Still, I find it weird. He looks more relieved of not being able to go rather than sad of not being able to celebrate a friend's happy day. Is he not telling the true?
On the same day, a guest arrived at Mon....
You guess it right, it's Yuki!
Otome-chan was the one that greet her first and to her surprised, everyone at Mon are thrilled to see her after a long time! Huh??? So, Yuki worked at Mon before? And that is how she was able to meet Tsucchi and date him!?!?
And,
She came by not to say "Hi, Otome-chan",
She came to say, "I'll see you tomorrow, Otome-chan!"
EPISODE 4
Be prepared.
We are going to get attacked by Daimon.
Start!
As what we saw last time, Tsucchi's ex girlfriend came to Mon and we knew that she was an ex-employee at Mon. たまたま, Daimon need to go back to his hometown but he was concern about not having enough people to prepare all the pastry for next few days. With the sudden appearance of Yuki at the store, he asked whether she can be at Mon for a while.
Seeing it as a chance to be near Tsucchi and Otome-chan at the same time, Yuki accept Daimon's request. Otome-chan is puzzled with her sudden agreement and Tsucchi is unable to say no to it considering the situation that they are in right now.
The next day, Yuki joined them at Mon and Otome-chan felt a sense of superiority and timid towards Yuki. She has the skills, efficient and she is also good at communicating with the customer. Even during working hours, Yuki does not shy away from flirting with Tsucch in front of Otome-chan! She felt discourage and it lead her to ruin today's custard.
With Daimon not around, her custard ruined, and Yuki....(well, you know what I mean, right?)
After their shift, everyone wants to go for a drink but Otome-chan declined it, saying that she wanted to practice making the custard so she won't ruined it again. Tsucchi was sad that Otome-chan did not joined them it but he cannot say anything about it and went along with everyone.
That night, Otome-chan stays at Mon and start practicing making the custard again. She made a numbered of batch and the scene shift to Daimon walking on the sidewalk and received a message from his mother. It says, "Thank you for coming to the funeral."
Huh?
So, it is not a wedding actually but a funeral. But, who's funeral?
Flashback, we see that Daimon interest in pastry has started since he was a kid. It seems like he enjoy doing it and keep making it for his sick mother. His father seems to hate the idea of him making pastry as he sees it as something not worthy for a man. He even thrown out Daimon pastry into the dustbin!
Mister, we need to talk!
So it was Daimon's father funeral and it seems that Daimon hold a grudge towards his father since he was a kid until now. He rarely goes back because he hate the idea of meeting his dad. You can also see that he is neither sad grieving about his father's death. He just accepted the fact the his father his no longer there. That's all.
Oh my Daimon, can I hug you right now???
Surprisingly, he was already in Tokyo by then and he went to Mon only to find out that Otome-chan is there, making custard. Surprise!
He asked her why is she still here and she told him about what happen. Otome-chan also notices that he is wearing a mourning attire rather that a wedding suite but she did not ask him about it. Then, he take a chair and sit next to her!
Daimon stayed with her and guide her on how to make the custard from scratch. だめ！私の心が..!!
And it seems like Daimon can't take his eyes off her. KYAAAAA!!!
He asked her why she is practicing as if her life is on the line, and she reply that doesn't want to practice with her own money anymore!
Her answer manage to make Daimon smile after a long day at the funeral and he was glad that he came to Mon instead of staying in his hometown. Doesn't he looks like someone who is smitten by love? KYAAA!
Back to Yuki and Tsucchi, we see everyone wanted to go for second round of drinking and while walking together, Tsucchi was bothered by how Otome-chan looks that day. He wanted to give her a call but is interrupted by Yuki.
Tsucchi doesn't want to talk her about their relationship but Yuki confronted him by saying that what he is experiencing with Otome-chan right now is just an adoration and not love. She may sees him as the perfect and good-looking prince that can do everything perfectly and she likes him for it. But, the moment she truly find someone that she love, she would definitely leave Tsucchi.
Hurm, it does make sense.
She is looking at him as someone from the past and not the present.
Tsucchi was shocked and and he denies her statement.
"Otome-chan is different!"
Is she?
Back at Mon, Otome-chan finished her last batch of custard and Daimon is trying it out. He said that the custard is good and Otome-chan is happy with the result!
In the midst of celebrating her small success, Daimon asked whether she indeed wanted to be a pastry chef at first and why.
Otome-chan was surprised by the question but responded that she did aim for it but she stopped halfway. If she is able to get it, she will go through it till the end. As for the reason, she started getting into pastry because someone told her before that the sweets she made was delicious.
"Is it Tsucchi?"
HAHAHHA, I'm sorry Otome-cyhan but you are quite easy to read 😂.
"I see. It's Tsucchi."
And he just laughed it off.
He is happy that he know her secret 😆!
"Then, how about you? Why did you become a pastry chef?"
Otome-chan, that is like asking him to open up a pandora box that he just saw it open a few hours ago before closing it back.
"Mine is for an impure reasons." He said.
"Eh?"
Daimon, let's not be too complicated ok?
After that, she did not ask him further about it and he brushed it off by making jokes about her name.
"By the ways, names and natures often agrees, don't you think?"
"What do you mean?"
"A maiden in love"
Apparently, the Kanji used for "maiden" has the same pronunciation as Otome's name
Then, they start quarrelling and Daimon was having the time of his life teasing Otome-chan about it!
Look at his sneaky face! He looks proud after teasing her name and asking her to clean-up properly before she can go home. Otome-chan is annoyed by his teasing but still did as what she was told.
Then, they start to cleaning up together and he can't stop laughing! He looks happy after a long somber day. 良かったね、ありがとう, おとめちゃん。
The episode ends with Daimon and Otome-chan becomes closer to each other but on the other hand, Tsucchi is face with a sudden reality about his relation with Otome-chan. Yuki's confrontation puzzled him and he is afraid that what she said might just be true after all.
